    Tacticool Marlin

Just what you've all been waiting for.

    Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

10/10 I would rail it up.

On a more serious note, getting that rail may make sense for a better sling attachment point, handstop (I guess if you want to c-clamp it haha), and you can also put on a Mlok side saddle for extra rounds. If you had only an 1894 for home defense, that rail can help you with a light attachment.

This kind of rail isn't even new, Midwest Industries had a mlok rail for an 1894 more than a year ago.

That hand rail is just what I need. I have a small microwave oven and a tiny refrigerator that I want to mount to my lever (in case I want to make a grilled cheese sandwich and have a cold one at the range or in the field).

This is in addition to the tri-pod, light, sling, stock pouch, and 70mm scope already mounted.

Is this tacticool enough or should I add more stuff? LOL

P.S. Lever now too heavy to shoot. Can only let it lay there and be admired for it's coolness.

Interesting, I'm going to buy a Marlin Dark...I'll probably put the MI rail on it, but it's nice to know that there are options.

While there is certainly a slippery slope to excessive tactical doodads when it comes to rails, I think it could be useful if done tastefully and with restraint. I have never bought the “staying true to tradition” argument at all. That said, I personally wouldn’t put one of those on, though I have nothing against those that do (unless, of course, they go full tacticool and slap a toaster oven on there).

                  Good luck even finding one...

I have a Marlin 1894C Dark that I added a red dot to. I love it. Very accurate.

I see it as a bookend to my 1893 30 -30 that was built in 1901.

This photo was taken the day I brought it home and before it got the red dot. It is very hard to photograph.

WTF is up with the carriage bolt holding the lever?!

It's probably their qd bolt for the lever. Makes it easier to break down and deep clean I guess.

Definitely changes the look of the Marlin and offers up some good usage.. but I think I would leave it stock once I get mine.

Doesn't look a thing like my Boyd's Tacticool stocked Savage 12 in .223.
