It's been a couple years since I bought a new gun, but the rule used to be stores could release the gun at exactly 10 days, if there was no response to DROS by then.

Lack of answer in 10 days was a legal "yes". A "no" 10 days + 5 minutes after you walked out the door with it was irrelevant and ownership was legal.

Has this changed? If the state can delay response however long they want, how is this not denial? This used to be a big deal just a few years ago.

The state was taking up to 30 days now looks like closer to normal 10-15 days.

Why does it matter if they take 15, 30, or X days? Can you no longer pick up the gun and leave in 10 days if there has been no response?

^^^ uh no not if undetermined or pending. And if you use an ffl that does not release on undetermined then you are sol for that dros. Like Turners.

So you are saying there is no longer a 10-day waiting period, and it is "whenever we get back to you".

No law change. FFL'S make up their own rules on releasing. That is why you shop elsewhere.

Heres the memo from US ATF that indicates FFL can release after 10 days if no response:

It sounds like waiting longer than 10 days is the FFL making up rules, by delaying. Definately a reason to go elsewhere.

Some of you must live in caves with no reception or cannot use the search button.
