What is the big deal about side loading gates?

Yes, they look cool and resemble the old western style looking rifles but with my Henry Big Boy Steel .357 mag I think that loading...and unloading the rifle is faster and more convenient.

What would be really cool is if they included a magazine switch (like my Browning auto shotgun) so you can block rounds from the magazine when you shuck a loaded round out of the chamber. Makes it very easy to unload for temporary situations (like coming back to camp after a hunt).

They didn't get rid of the tube, they just added a gate.

We already know, but I think the interest will increase only after they introduce in .357 & .44.

Yep, this. I had a really hard time finding a .357 lever action (ended up getting a pretty decent deal on a lightly used Rossi), but my partner would love if we could shoot at the same time... Needs to be another .357 though.

Much easier to top off the magazine.

I really hope they keep both. For me, as a range toy, the top loading is much easier. I have enough side loaders.
It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.

What is the big deal about losing the brass tube liner?

You can unscrew them and keep your hand clear if you're careful. Probably safer than cycling a whole tube to unload. I just unload the fun way myself. Seems easier AND pretty much Drew proof.

If the hammer is lowered, as it should be, it is no more lethal than a piece of pipe. Pretty simple, eh?

Firearms Safety Rule #1. Simple. Well, pretty simple anyhow.

Oh that's right. Silly me. Rule #1 doesn't apply towards rifles with fixed tube magazines.

                                On a serious note:
Will the Henry Rifle in question feed properly without the brass colored magazine tube liner?
