I wouldn't buy it if it's not a JM. Maybe consider a Rossi/Puma. My personal 357 rifle is a Contender Carbine with a MGM barrel. Not a lever gun but i've shot 100 yd 3 shot groups less than one inch with my reloads.

I know you said you don't reload, but these things are sweethearts with some moderate 44spl. Heavy slug travelling slow. Hard to beat for plinking fun

As other have already mentioned, if you do not reload the .44 will cost a lot more to shot, and, you will have so much fun with a lever you will want to shoot it more often.

For what it is worth, I have a lever in both calibers (.357 and .44) and more often than not, for plinking I grab my .357.

I just got an email from grabagun today telling me that the Marlin CSBL I wanted was back in stock. But, I just brought home a new CSBL, newly released from jail. That little .357 is a darn pretty rifle.
