thanks and yes both 6mms...the 6BR is my tactical gun and the 6BRX is my prone gun...we shoot a long range varmint match here and i also shoot a little F-class just to keep those guys on there toes.

I will admit needing to "hit the gym" if I were to use my F-T/R rifle in Precision Rifle events. Trying to move, acquire, and hit targets under time constraints with a 17-1/2 lb rifle ain't gonna happen with my skinny arms...

Everyone needs to remember the chassis in question by OP and in other recent threads are at the bottom of the chassis price spectrum. Yeah, they won't shoot like a Manners or a McMillan out of the box but they're going to be better than a plastic stock that comes on a $400 rifle.

Bedding is NOT necessary. MPA guarantees 3/8ths moa on their factory built rifles, with no bedding.

Maybe not on an MPA because it has a feature to support the tang, but that's not the case on most other chassis out there.
Basically, nothing can be said about one specific chassis and expect it to be true of others.
Same goes for stocks.

17-1/2lb is actually a really good weight for a field match rifle.
Not so heavy to bother you when you carry it all day from stage to stage and not so light that it wobbles around when you have to shoot it standing.

I was actually toying with the idea of getting a variable scope and making it a double duty F-class/Practical Rifle. Right now I only have a fixed 16X.

I don't like bedding forward of the lug because it has to be re-done at each rebarrel.
For a hunting gun that will never get rebarrelled, you can bed 2" forward.
