Do people come in the threads to censor, edit and remove posts or is that a second user name?

The 6X6 in the picture I shot in Wyoming several years ago with a 243. If I posted how many blacktail, muledeer, pigs, antelope, and everything else I have shot you wouldnt believe it. Sunday I will try and take a picture of my bone pile.
I am working on getting four more bucks mounted as I post.
I will send you a PM.

Nice bull and the deer. Got your PM. Thanks
Glad to see you’re a hunter and not just a key board hunter.
All of them do something better than the 30-06, but none of them do everything as well.

            All of These.
The three bobcats fell to number 9 shot which most have never even heard of. They where all shot over watering holes for a very specific reason. And I know the picture quality is bad. I fell on my phone and broke it.

My offer still stands. If you would like to shoot the smallest 5 shot group you will most likely ever shoot let me know.
And to top it off if you know somebody who has never fired any gun my gear will get them a 1/4 inch 5 shot group there first time out. Bring them and a camera.
            No pictures of the gun.

I plan on taking a rifle safety course, practice (anyone in the south bay area have a favorite range?) and once I feel more comfortable, begin to learn to hunt. Maybe within a year or two, I will be able to fill my freezer.

There is a range 40 miles north of the Golden Gate Bridge in a little place called Two Rock if you can't find one closer.
Right now most of the choices already talked about will work but starting this year California is now lead free for hunting.
The two choices you made will still be fine when we go lead free because of there popularity.
And my offer is still good. If you want to do some shooting I own many many deer rifles and it's all free.

                    No pictures of the gun.
Once you shoot it you can report about the recoil and you can show a picture of the group's but no pictures of the gun itself.
You have to be 12 years old or older to shoot at Circles S Ranch.
If you have a son or daughter they will also shoot sub 3/8 inch there first time!!!
                    Bring them.
They can have there picture taken or a video but you can't post either here.
Load will be 64 grains of H4350 and the bullet will weigh around 190 grains. BAT action Bartlein barrel gunsmith was Jim Borden and it's in a McMillan fiberglass stock and it's not an unlimited railgun

I don't hunt like most people here.
Early in the season I walk around with a 6mm-06 with a 28 inch barrel and glass.
The last week of the season I spend the entire week looking at several big hillsides that run 300-1200 yards away. I shoot from a portable bench.
Mid year I hunt the coast on private ranches and pass up most of the bucks I see.
I would rather make a long shot on a rat than a close shot on a decent buck.

OP, out of those two choices I would go with .30-06, especially if you're going to hunt in CA and need copper bullets. OR if I could recommend any caliber, it would be .243. A bit small for Elk unless you're a good shooter maybe. I donno, never hunted Elk, not in good enough shape to do a real Elk hunt.

On Bobcats I like to hunt them near water. A creek or pond and a electronic call. If you see a coyote while hunting bobcats don't shoot it because you will chase away any potential cats. Coyotes come right in and cats take forever. They walk a short distance and stop. On coyotes if you don't see anything in 15 minutes I tend to move. On Bobcats you need to wait an entire hour.
