    Custom Loaded Ammunition

I am looking for a company that does custom ammunition loading somewhere in LA County. Basically I have a very nice rifle in a "dead" caliber, 6-45mm, that re-barreling/re-chambering is not a cost effective option for. So, I'd like to load for it, but at the moment, and for the moderately foreseeable future, me reloading for it isn't a possibility. I have dies for it, and the caliber uses standard .223 Remington brass that just need to be run through the resizing die. Any info or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Why does it need to be in LA county?

Calgunner MrKubota is an 06FFL and can load custom ammo for you, but he is not in LA county.

I have 6-223 dies and press if you want to come over and load your own.

If I am thinking about it correctly and I might not be see if the barrel is marked with a neck dimension.
It will say something like .254 NK
Some of those wildcats need neckturned brass and some didn't.

I have built a bunch of 6x45 (also called 6x223) rifles and barrels.
No need for turning necks with a standard 6x45 reamer.
It would take a custom dimensioned reamer to get a tight neck.

6x222 are routinely tight necked though.

6x45mm (6mm-223Rem) ain't dead to me. It's a wildcat and not much "factory" ammunition has been loaded for it, but reloading dies are widely available.

Thanks for the info guys! I only picked LA County since this is where I'm located, totally not opposed to road trips.

I tried Black Hills and was told I'd need to purchase a significant amount of ammo, so it is an option but still a bit more than I'd like to stock up on.

Oh I am already reloading, but at the moment, and for possibly the next couple years, my loading set up at home is mothballed. I can't start up again in the foreseeable future, unfortunately. I do want to know what this rifle is capable of. It's a beautiful custom bolt gun that was never treated the way it should be, but the bore is bright and beautiful so it begs to be shot!

The 6x45 was also known as the 6mm TCU and chambered in the Thompson Center Contender handguns along with the 6.5mm TCU, 7mm TCU, 25 TCU and 30 TCU. Wes Ugalde developed them (the U in TCU). I have some 7mm TCU dies here somewhere from when I used to shoot in handgun silhouette competitions (IHMSA).

6TCU is actually more like a 6x45 ackley improved.
The whole TCU series have sharper shoulders and larger case diameters at the shoulder.

I believe the 6TCU has a sharper and larger diameter shoulder as Mr. Rausch pointed out.

I've read a fair amount on this round and it look like a great little shooter. The gun is a perfect "walking around" gun, built on a Sako action and I'd love to see what it can do.
