    Sacramento FFL

I lost my 'ship to' FFL up in Woodland last month. I traveled that far because they had become good friends, were easy to deal with, and I enjoyed the place.

So now I'm looking for an FFL closer to home in the Sacramento (Carmichael) area. I've checked out the Gun Range, it is convenient, but there were a couple of things that I didn't feel comfortable with. I tried calling the Armory Outpost but couldn't speak to a live person. So I guess a FTF visit is in order. I've used River City, Justguns, and The Rancho Shooting Center for PPT's, but called RC, and they don't accept out of states, and the Shooting Center and Justguns are now closed.

So any other ideas would be a big help. BTW I'm getting too old to be hoofing it down to Elk Grove.... :-) Thanks....

Check out Shooters Pro Shop, in Roseville. They have always treated me well. I have had a few guns imported through them.

Left Coast Tactical/Survival Instinct on Mather. I've used them a couple times. They have a very reasonable transfer fee, $25. Sometimes it can be hard to get a response from them if they are busy.

Also Kilroys in West Sac is very good, not sure what their transfer fee is.

Armory Outpost is very good. I've used them before and wouldn't hesitate to do it again.

These posts tend to follow a pattern: OP asks for suggestions, people give great options, OP chooses something else but never says what it is, and then we never hear about it again.

So what's your problem?? Are you needing a new FFL for your out of state purchases?? I'll check with my 'find' and see if he want's to take on more buyers.. I'm not saving any money, it's just convenient. First are you in the Sac area??? Let me know, and if all the stars align I'll give you a shout. BTW I thought I did thank those members who offered up some fresh ideas....

I too was kind of interested to know which FFL you were considering. It just seemed abrupt to not explain why you didnt name the FFL you found.

I'm sure OP picked Sacramento Armory (former CalTac employees) or Sacramento Black Rifle since they are near the Carmichael area.

I totally understand why you think The Gun Range is off-putting. Bad safety practices all over.

This is a public forum for sharing information, and at first it seemed all secret-ninja to not disclose the FFL you chose. I guess the misunderstanding was that you hadn't confirmed if your choice would work out, while I misinterpreted it as it was a done deal but you wanted to keep your find a secret after everyone else gave you good leads.

I've used Armory Outpost in the past with good results. He's a 1 man shop so if he didn't answer the phone it's likely he was with an in-store customer. When you're in the shop he will give you his full attention for as long as it takes. You can always email him.

There's a good shop in Folsom called Loyal Arms. They have some posts in the Vendor section. It's an office-based FFL so no display shelves to gawk at but if you know what you want they can order it or accept the transfer. They also accept online ammo purchases.

I’ve recently had quick and easy PPT’s at The Gun Room in Elk Grove.
They all seem like a bunch of good guys and gal that I’ve dealt with. Worth checking out imo.

I never knew we had any FFL shops in Woodland. I knew of a couple but they all let their FFL’s go a few months ago.
