.223 plinker/trainer

    For strictly punching paper, look at PCP airguns. The .223 is cheap to shoot relative to other centerfire cartridges. But you'll get way more trigger time and crazy precision with a good PCP. For training, they can't be beat. Many are backyard friendly, too.

      I cannot shoot something like that at home, and if I'm gonna go to the range, I'd rather shoot a .223, but thanks for the suggestion. I think those with larger properties have a viable option.

        Maybe you can find an alleyway or sneak into a gym or something like that. A backstop and pellet trap should be easy to set up.
