    Labradar?

I have blasted more than my fair share of Chrony's. A lot more. In fact, I think I'm out of chronographs right now.

I haven't seen much mention of Labradar here. I imagine many of you use a Magnetospeed, but I want to be able to clock handgun loads too. I know Labradar is big bucks, but I like the idea of not slinging bullets at my equipment. Also, times have changed in this area and it looks like most/all of my shooting is going to be done on a range. Downrange chrono's are a pain in that situation.

Any comments on reliability, apparent accuracy, etc of the Labradar?

I can honestly report that the Labradar is worth every penny. I had a Caldwell Precicion chrono that I hated having to wait for seize fire to take out and position, sometimes getting wrong or have terrible "help" from a RSO trying to get it just right. Lots of errors and missed readings. Not mention light issue. I like not having a point of impact shift due to something hanging off of my barrel. The Labaradar is not hard to position for your shots at all, I got mine right on the first try.

      I agree with firefly.

I love my Labradar. I dont really even like to shoot anymore unless i have measured/radar'ed (what is correct word) the ammo I am using.

Everyone who sees it in action falls in love with it!

I know you were asking about the Labradar in here, but I just thought I would mention that the Magnetospeed has a rail adapter for the V3. I use mine to clock my 9mm loads.

I have a Magneto and a Labradar, while the Magneto is a fine chrono I find myself using the Labradar more often, highly recommended.

              Thanks all, appreciate the comments.

Using a rail adapter for the Magnetospeed sounds like I would still need to shoot over it. Not only is it a hassle at the range, but I'm sure I would find a way to blast it like I did all my Chronys.

Same here. Have both but use labradar almost always now. Def worth the money.

Does your Lab Radar capture shots on targets that are set up past 100yds ?

Also will in capture a 4,300 fps bullet? From a 22 Dasher using 40gr V-Max's?

Do you know why? Are there some situations where it's known to struggle?

I sent mine back but haven't used it yet to see if it works better now.
The posters that go by WhiteMamba and Focus both use them and Focus who is an electrical engineer couldn't get mine to capture shots.
I don't think they will record the high velocity wildcats if that's what your after. I have a 22-06 with a 15 or 16 twist barrel in the closet I could test but I think 4000 FPS is the upper limit.

Maybe it was the combination of velocity and only being a .22 that made it hard to pick up.

I'll be doing very ordinary stuff, probably never over 3000 fps.
