JC Penny, Harley Davidson, and Weatherby have great top side seating arrangements aboard the HMS Titanic.
The 'traditional' rifle shooters that were hard for Weatherbys in the late 1970s leave them in the Safe today and shoot the Winchesters and Mausers of the 30s 40s and 50s.
It isn't so much that the rifles change, it is that we change.Comment

Weren't the Weatherby's made on Mauser surplus actions for years? And didn't Weatherby get away from that and into their own actions?Lynn Dragoman, Jr.

Pre 64 & Vanguard similarities?
If someone can see significant similarities between a Weatherby Mark 5, popular in the 70's, Action and a Mauser 98, well, that's a new one on me.
Roy Weatherby's original rifles of the 1940s I'm sure must have had strong Mauser origins. But the pictures I saw in this post had little to do with Mauser. Not sure how the new Weatherby's are equipped, but the 70s rifles that I'm familiar with had a 60 degree bolt lift and a lot, maybe 9, locking lugs.
A modern day Vangaurd is in a league of its own when compared to a decent Winchester Pre-64. And a lot of rifle shooters are not aware of this difference so that is why I posted on this topic. If or should someone else wish to compare the rifles in question then fine. It is still America.Comment

Vanguard is a lot closer to an old Sako.Comment
