OP, if you haven't bought it yet, DO! You won't regret it. I've seen a good number of 99's in 250 Savage and 300 Savage. That 30-30 doesn't come around very often. One question; how did the bore look?

I used a 30-30 lever as my pig brush gun for years.
Fun round, great knock down.

I just recently went over to a lever 45-70 to fit that role but the 30-30 remains in the safe for my kids or a back up.

Yes! 30-30 is super fun to handload, from plinkers to target to hunting loads.

I use a really light cast load as an intro to shooting target or plinker round.

Nobody has mentioned it but I used to own a Stevens model 325, bolt action 30-30. That thing was a super accurate rifle, especially considering how old and well traveled it was. It's definitely one I wish I hadn't sold.

I have an old JC. Higgins, .30-30. Used it for years to get deer, wild pigs, vermin, etc. Great round, great rifle. I retired it in 1985, when I got my first SKS. I still shoot it on occasion, but due to the fact it is still in great condition, I don't like taking it out in the weather any more. I concur, it would be a solid purchase.

I like the 30-30 a lot and with leverevolution ammunition and it's even better.
