They're not liberals, they're leftists. Please don't use the former for the latter. Liberals are Locke, Jefferson, Burke, Hayek. Leftists are progressives, Prussian state-socialists, fascists. Liberals stand against the state and unequivocally support liberty. Leftists support state tyranny.

I want the 30-06 because I can hunt everything from coyotes to deer to elk and antelope with it and all I have to do is change bullets. And, I can walk into darned near any sporting goods store in the country that carries rifle ammo and they'll have some 06 ammo, and it won't be expensive.

9" at 300??? Sure if you hunt under 100 yards

Forgetting calibers.. animals move, yardage can be a bit off do to LOS, supports can be less stable, wind if shooting further, hart rate up and time to make decisions shorter.

Starting out with a 3MOA system is NOT something one should do if hoping to shoot must past 100 - even then..

My hunting round is a .30-30....talk about rainbow trajectory...haha. Please dont start a caliber pissing match in this thread. We're talking minute of deer here and 30-06, .223, .308, etc all have taken more than enough deer to cement their efficacy in real world shooting situations.

??? I said caliber aside: Maybe it is my crappy writing - but that was meant to mean - as in no part of the discussion. - I made zero mention of the caliber choice for hunting.

Sometimes a 22 is best or a shotgun, I have no idea what caliber might be the best choice for ones hunting parameters with such a general "for hunting" statement and such would NOT make a recommendation - so many good choices depending on the use. BTW you will not see me bashing the 06 thats what I shot as a kid and still think it is a great round.
