I truly love my rossi 92, 16", .357 - no problems ever and super fun! I bought the slick kit and dvd from steve's gunz, but my daughter had 1000 rounds through it before I could even get to it and it is plenty smooth by now. Great entry level lever gun by my reckoning. Gonna scoop the .44mag one of these days.

If I had a roll of dough burning a hole, I'd be looking at an older marlin or winchester, the henry's are super cool but always seemed a little heavy and pricey.

I got the same Miroku 1873 rifle. It feeds any type of 38/357 without issue.

The same cannot be said for my friend's Rossi which is picky about what ammo is used and doesn't feed nearly as smoothly.

I'm glad I spent the extra money.

With right and easy adjustment which i published a while back and easily can be found on the net, Rossi would eat everything you offer her.
About $0.0001 fix and you do not need to spend any extra money, just 3 minutes research on the net and 10 minutes of your time with a screwdriver

Because they were pretty crappy.....

Google Remlin and you will know.

I seem to recall that..... Remington bought Marlin, move mfg to Remington and the they had no clue what they were doing. The stuff they were producing had all kinds of issues. Since then, Remlin has invested in new tooling and seems have gotten its act together. Unfortunately, the new tooling for the .357 has not been built yet.

Yes, the guns were so bad they stopped producing them.

I have a Rossi 92 16" in SS and love it. Replaced a few springs, polished a few areas and it is a fun little gun.

I bought a spring kit for mine, but the spring you really want to replace in a Rossi is the extractor spring. I do not recall the part number, but the spring that you purchase in most of the aftermarket kits is an off the shelf piece. Costs all of a buck or two. You just need to find a post where somebody references that spring part number.

I am interested in a Henry in 357 as well, mostly for plinking and to just have a nice lever action. However I am also considering a 44 Mag since the Henry supposed to feel like a 22lr. In which case why not just get a 22LR?

Either a Miroku 1892 or 1873, or a Marlin. I own 2 Miroku 1892 Winchesters and 5 Marlin 1894 rifles, including 2 in .357. The Winchesters have better quality.

If you want to buy new you will have to wait on the Marlin. They came out with the 44 mag... now the 45 Colts are here.

Crossing my fingers... The retooled 357's probably will be out in a couple months to a little over a year.

JMO but I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for Marlin to reintroduce the 1894 in .357/.38. I had hopes that they would do it at the SHOT show this year but no joy, not even a hint. Sad because right now there isn't a reasonably priced, NIB, side loading/side ejecting lever action .357/.38 on the market.
