what 357 mag lever action next?

    Hi boys and girls
Long story short, I gave away a rifle in the heat of the moment and now need to replace it. I am looking at A Henry Golden Boy( this is what I gave away) but are there anything out there that I should look at?. Keep in mind this is a don't matter rifle So I can go inexpensive.

    Thanks for advice.

Rossi 92 is pretty inexpensive, and looks fun. Not as heavy as the brass receiver Henry's.

Rossi is fun, but if you ever need anything from their CS, forget it.

I have been waiting over 8 months for a part, first they said it was backordered 2 months, now there is no schedule.
Their CS just waves theirs hands politely, but do nothing.

I really like my Henry Big Boy Steel. The Steel model weighs a good bit less than the brass model. Also requires less cleaning and care to keep it looking good. Can't recommend the Big Boy Steel enough.

Buddy has two Rossi's in .357 Mag. One blued the other stainless steel. They are fun, inexpensive rifles. They need to be slicked up on their actions though. Personally, I would look at Henry Big Boy Steel & Winchester 1873 levers.

Appreciate all the replies. I'm still leaning Henry but will have a look at the Rossi Marlin and Win.

If you want to buy new you will have to wait on the Marlin. They came out with the 44 mag... now the 45 Colts are here.

Crossing my fingers... The retooled 357's probably will be out in a couple months to a little over a year.

I have a Rossi- it broke right out of the box... payed local gun smith to have it fixed rather than ship it and wait for Rossi's weak CS. And deal with commie cali shipping fire arms reg/laws.

After it was finally fixed- I love it- fun as hell little rifle.

I have a Winchester 1873 (Miroku). Very nice rifle. Very expensive rifle when compared to Henry or Rossi.

I agree, Henry Big Boy Steel you can't go wrong with this gun. I've got around 400 rounds through mine with no failures of any kind and the action has smoothed up considerably. I've mostly shot .357 magnum but have shot .38 special with no problems. Only addition is a Skinner rear peep sight, great gun, well balanced, and loads of fun to shoot.

That's what I'm holding my breath for. Need a 357 to go with my 30-30

                          +1

I have a BB Steel in .357, can't say enough about the rife. Henry's CS is top notch, too.

I'm waiting on the all-weather Henry .357 which may take a little bit until they're easier to find.

I got the same Miroku 1873 rifle. It feeds any type of 38/357 without issue.

The same cannot be said for my friend's Rossi which is picky about what ammo is used and doesn't feed nearly as smoothly.

I'm glad I spent the extra money.
