    The stock is very comfortable and does mitigate some recoil. I cannot make a comparison between this stock and the military stock since I never had one, but the stock weighs about 4#. The whole thing is just under 10#.

        Mauser rifles can be exceptionally accurate. Here is mine. 6.5X55
        Krieger barrel, Jard 14 oz. trigger, Farrel base and rings, SWFA 20X, Boyd's stock.
