    Bergara Rifles

Any body have one or any knowledge of the brand mainly the LRP 6.5 creedmoor.
I'm thinking of buying one but would like someone with any experience to give their opinion. Thanks Michael. Mainly for paper punching and ring steel.

I think its a 700 clone. Imported rifle from Spain?

Try Google. I looked into those rifles an few months ago. I decided it was not worth the chance.
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.
I really miss the good old Pomona Gun Shows.

I have one of the B14 Timbers and its a nice rifle but its nothing like the LRP.
I can say that Bergara's general quality/fit and finish is very good and accuracy is excellent. The action shares many dimensions with the 700 so scope mounts etc are easy to find.
I'm plenty satisfied with mine, its just almost too pretty to carry around the mountains looking for deer.

I don't have one but have handled a few. I think they are excellent rifles and right now Bergara and Winchester M70's are my favorite rifles under $1k.

            Fresno, PM reply sent.

I bought a Bergara LRP elite a month ago. I got a good deal as the prices for RPRs in 6.5 were going up and supply was going down. It was available and showed up in 10 days right as it was getting out of jail.

Some people think that spending more than $500 over an gen 2 RPR is waste. It's a lot of cash but I sold a Wilson Combat CQB to pay for it. I feel that the LRP is very good rifle, its way better than me. I like some of the upgrades over the RPR and thats why I bought it. The Timney trigger is very good and I've adjusted it down to 2.5 lbs. Clean. PRS stock fits me perfectly. Bergara has been making comp barrels for many years. 5 years ago they started making custom rifles for the long range pro shooters. Their new line, couple of years old, are trying to fit between the RPR and more custom rifles.

Here is my last range session. I have less than 100 rounds thru it. I chrono'd the Hornady 140g ELD Match ammo and was getting 200fps variation in velocity. I attribute the high flyer to one of the 2850fps rounds. 100 yds, 5 rounds, bipod and rear bag.

Fresno, let me know if you have more questions.

I am looking into one of their BMP rifles. I really like how they 're setup with the sakko style extractor, r700 scope base compatibility, same receiver thread and pitch as a r700, and the BMP headspace is controlled by savage style barrel nut. And it's an aluminum chassis. I'm seriously thinking about getting one after I finish up some other things.

I should get mine out of jail in the next 3 days.. I'll let you know how it goes. Planning on loading it up on my own with some 140gn ELDX rounds.

I did not think the Bergaras went for $1,000 -- I thought they were closer to the cost of an AI.

If so, I would definitely go for the AI.

$900 is much cheaper than I thought -- At that price I would say they are a good deal.

I thought they were much more.

This is where I got mine at. 8 days ago they had 5 in stock, I guess it has been popular. I'll give a report of it hopefully this weekend.

Some of them are much more. I think their most expensive rifles come close to the $5,000 mark.

Without a doubt, I was just saying the particular one that I bought was at that $900 mark.

The LRP is about $2400, and the LRC is about $1900. The B-14 HMR doesn't look bad but its not in a chassis system. The HMR goes for about $900, not too bad.
