It looks like a very nice Rifle, Howa makes very high Quality Rifles, I have the 1500 in 30-06 and a 1500 mini action in 7.62x39, the Nikko scopes are the lower end made in China, but they work fine and I have no problems with them, The high end Japanese made Nikko's are very high Quality Scopes, but are out of my price range.
My Brother has the 1500 .308 Bull barrel, it is a Tack Driver, 1/4" groups at 100 yards not a problem.... I'm sure that this "Long Range" Rifle will give just as good or better result......

You can get the Howa barreled action for $450, and a B&C stock with the adjustable comb for $400. Much better deal in my mind.

I have never heard anyone complain about howa quality. Typically quite the opposite, they have more of a cult like following.

I'm assuming you are referring to the price. Which i agree is too high. but to say TIkka is nicer than Howa I think is unfounded.

I am for sure a Howa fanboy. Tikkas are nice too though.

I think the street price for this needs to be $700ish.

          I saw a remington 700 B&C combo at sportsmans for $699
