Amen to that. I got my JM stamped 1894CS earlier this year.

I bought the 20" Rossi r92 partly because of it being half the price but i wanted the project too.

I love mine but i wouldn't get one unless you have a look at the you tubes and want to do the tuning.
Iv'e heard the opinion expressed that one option is to just shoot them and they smooth up.
Don't buy it, yeah i'm sure they cycle smoother but shooting will do nothing for them being basically over sprung. (ejector, lever & loading gate)

Mine is slicker than snot and fed everything i tried except .357 when you cycle the lever slow,(like to watch) if you jack it like you stole it there's no problem.
In addition to the spring kit and all the metal work shown in the you tubes i changed the sights out to an original Winchester ladder sight from a 92 i had and a suitable front sight for that height, removed the safety and have a .25 acp shell as a plug there now, replaced the plastic magazine spring cap with a narrowed .44 mag shell.
Iv'e since found that the barnes vortex .357 (non tox) cycle perfectly no matter how fast you cycle the lever.

I love my Rossi '92. Nothing fancy, but so much fun to shoot. Rossi lever action .357 and CZ 452 .22LR bolt action Trainer come on every range trip. All the others are in rotation.

My pre Rem Marlin 1894C in 357 mag is the last gun I would ever sell. It functions great with cheap 38's and is in the 30-30 class with 357 mag loads. Here it is with my Ruger Blackhawk in the same caliber.

It is rumored that Ruger is coming out with a new pistol caliber rifle very soon. Some speculation indicates that it could be a revival of the Deerfield or maybe the 96 series. I think we will see the release in the next couple of months..
