Remington Recall - Defective Trigger Settlement

Heard a blurb on the radio this morning. Thought I check it out. Didn't see anyone else post about it yet. Remington is replacing the triggers.

About half way down their home page
For more than 200 years, Remington firearms have been forged from the untamed spirit that will always define the American spirit — Revolutionizing an industry. Building a nation. This is Remington Country.

This recall is over a year old.
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.

Really? Wonder why it's on the radio today. Must be that the class action lawsuit just settled.

Could be that they replaced enough triggers to finalize the lawsuit. Recall started last year 4/1/15

There was quite a bit of controversy earlier in the last couple of years over this and everyone said, "oh no, it's just someone trying to sue" the documentary that was published at the time was pretty damning since the person that designed and worked for Remington was in it.

Everyone here at the time defended them since their model 700's never had an issue how could anyone else have a problem. Just goes to show you how big corporations work and the bean counters that work for them.

I sent mine in not long ago and it seemed the turn around time was less than a week.

                    Better safe than sorry.

Saw the documentary on this, made me weary of their 700's.

Yup, that's what I did....replaced my 700 5R with a Timney. Best upgrade and worthwhile.

I have a Timney in my work drawer and just have to get it installed.

I heard about this a long time ago. Think I saw the same documentary.
