It's okay as, Diver, you have also written a few posts worthy of keyboard intervention. You know, like when you suggest that bubble levels aren't necessary. That blasphemy is practically sac-religious.

Ya, but I learned from that thread, now I level my bipod to the barrel.. Trying to figure out how to get my 4' carpenter level on my shoulder next.

I post only the facts. If I hear some obvious BS from a poser I post the truth before it becomes yet another unfounded myth of the internet.
Does anyone here believe that the PRS top 20% have better reloading equipment and better reloading methodology's than the guys/gals who own the world's smallest groups?
I was sitting next to Bob Hoppe at Sacramento the day he shot his 0.5823 group at 600 yards and my father was pulling his target in the pits.
Have you ever seen a sub 1 inch gong get 5 hits at 600 yards from a PRS rifle?
Just the facts and let the keyboard warrior wannabes keep dreaming.

I've had great success with my custom build using a 24" Bartlein barrel medium contour chambered in 300 wsm w/KRG X-Ray chassis. It's built on a Tikka T3 action however. She's wearing a vortex viper PST 6x24x50 FFP scope as well as a Harris bipod up front. Her name is "Sophia"

                Bob Hoppe at Sacramento.

As I posted, of course I agree on the fact that nearly all precision reloading equipment, technique and refinement came from or was influenced by the BR guys.

However, I did appear that you might be overzealous and not understanding the skill set of the top of the PRS or similar type of shooters. I too post stuff that's I know often sounds brash, often without the intent on being a dick, but such is the keyboard.

Btw is Bob the guy that always is in blue overalls? I have not been on that range in a year or two.

PS I am in NV, we were out yesterday and after the first couple of light indications from the RTAC, it seemed to stop working. I did have it on, for about 3 hours before we finished our long hike to the FFP. Are you running into issues like this from your units? It sucks, when at those distances the gear you need to confirm RoT doesn't work without warning.

That is a Bob (Dorton), but not the same guy. I believe Hoppe is in Nevada too. Shoots at Palomino.

                    Three things a man needs:
Duct tape to stop things from moving when you don't want them to move.
WD40 to help things move when you want them to move.
A big hammer for when the above two approaches do not work.

You don't own a variety of precision machinists sledge hammers?

All the good shooters know just the right hammer to use when installing a new FFP Vortex.

SwitchBarrel is the 2015 NBRSA 1000 Yard National Champion and he is of course correct that Dangerous Bob Dorton is the guy in the blue overalls.
Robert (Bob) Hoppe is from Reno and his brother is from Elko,Nevada.
The point I was making was 3100FPS made a statement in which he said that the top 20% of the PRS shooters in essence were better reloaders than the benchrest shooters.
Naturally when such nonsense is brought up I have to call BS because that is exactly what his statement was/is.
I don't shoot Benchrest and SwitchBarrel can confirm that but I did offer to shoot with 3100FPS to see how his PRS rifle stacked up against my hunting rifle.
He said he would even take it easy on me. I am able to shoot any distance he would like as you already know.
I believe I met him before and he was shooting a 7mm at that time.
My offer is both genuine and sincere as I like shooting more than most.
I would like it on paper so pictures can be posted and measurements can be made.
The short gentleman in the above picture wearing the hat that says Dorton is Dangerous Bob. The tall guy wearing the Team Calfee shirt is an unknown Shooter holding a 3.300 inch group. I don't know anyone who would have there picture taken with a group that large.

PRS shooting is not benchrest and benchrest is nothing PRS but I can tell you that the top 20% PRS shooters use reloading equipment, reloading techniques, and load development techniques that would make a seasoned BR shooter re-think what they are doing.

LynnJr, where I agree with 3100FPS is that PRS and BR are very different. Of course, 3100FPS pushed the dialogue a bit further where he insinuated that the top 20% of PRS shooters can reload better than BR shooters. That is, of course, false. I am not a BR shooter, but I know enough that the top BR guys are not going to beat by PRS in terms of small groups. And, that is for good reason since the goal of BR is virtually exclusively accuracy on paper.

3100FPS and, you LynnJr, simply have a different perspective of shooting because you both stem from disciplines that are quite a bit different.

Then, you have the long range shooters, which you, LynnJr, are now a part of. The long range guys use barrels from Bartlein that are now all the way up to $735 retail for a blank (starting in 2016). There is another world of difference in how you shoot and reload for the $735 barrel vs. the thin $300 barrels.

Different people have different interests and standards of accuracy.

You are welcome at any URSA match and as I have never seen an accurate tactical rifle so far I look forward to shooting against yours.
I am picking up primers this Sunday and we have a 2000 yard match next Sunday but after that I am free.
Don't take it easy on anybody as this is not for the weak at heart.
I like shooting and have no problem with losing so let's see what you got for 25 rounds on paper and distance is of no concern and you are free to exceed 3100fps if you like.

Now now Lynn, if you are going to tell stories, at least get some of the facts right.

                              1. You didn't get banned for trying to sue us for a prize you thought you were entitled to at a match. First time EVER in shooting history I have heard of a shooter doing that, but there was a first time for everything. You were banned because the Benchrest guys did not want to deal with your unsportsmanlike conduct. Plain and simple.

                              2. I have never been banned from any range. If so, please show me the documentation to back up your story.
