I'll second what LynnJr posted. I have two Harrell brakes. One brake is on a .300 Win Mag. and it seems like I am firing a .243. You will get it in less than a week and the cost is only about $30.00.

The brakes are internally threaded, and if I recall correctly, you can order any thread you want, but you will have to find a local machinist/gunsmith to thread your barrel. I had "kcstott" a calgun member install my last brake, and he did an excellent job so that you cannot see where the brake and the barrel are joined.

I have that $45 Schuler brake on my Grendel barrel with the weird threads.
A $28 Strike Industries J-Comp for 223.
And for 308, I have a brake off an FN Scar for only $58!
It's a PWS FSC30 that normally sells closer to $100.
It has the FN logo on it, too. That's a bonus.

I just ordered two muzzlebrakes and two bolt knobs from Harrell's Precision at 7:30 pm on a Friday. I will post a picture when they show up.

They work good, but are very expensive for what you get.
I recommend a 3 port brake from Ross Schuler.
$45 made in a day or two to your specs on bullet size, barrel diameter and thread spec.

Get the 45 dollar brake and take the money you would have over spent on a high dollar brake and have it timed and installed......!!!!


There is no magic pixie dust or unicorn feathers inside of a muzzle device......pretty basic and 45 bucks is a steal for quality product !

They are 3/4 inch brakes going on pencil thin barrels.
It wouldn't make any difference if they were chrome plated.

Other methods of blackening steel muzzle devices include bluing, black oxide and parkerizing.
The process chosen depends on the material you are working with and the look you are going for.
