    Cases for Scoped Rifles

Now that I have two new scoped rifles coming my way, ( http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s....php?t=1172696 ) I am wondering how to transport them. I generally prefer soft cases for my rifles, but they are all iron sight guns.

For you folks that deal with scoped rifles, what do you use for cases? Soft side? Hard side? Any recommendations?
If I had to describe myself in one word it would be "bad at following directions"

Unless you're transporting them tied to your bumper on a string, a soft case should be fine. I only use a hard case when absolutely necessary (travel).

Most of the guys I shoot with are using the woven style Tactical cases and they work very well.
I still use mainly hard cases but the latest soft cases are excellent and I am as old school as they make them.

Depending on your safe, you may want a hard case to store it seperate. I know my .338lm is too big for my safe, or I have to sacrifice an entire section to use it. I ordered this http://www.amazon.com/Platinum-Tacti...rch_detailpage
and it fits my armalite ar30 with a nf optic fine.

I have both hard and soft cases.
I prefer to use the hard cases since I transport them in the back of my P/U that has a camper shell on it.
I usually take 6-10 double hard cases with me when I go shoot since I do not want the rifles bouncing around back there.
My 50BMG rifles also have their own single hard case.
I like the protection the hard case gives me over what a soft case can.

IF I just take 1-2 rifles in my car than I use soft cases since the hard cases do not fit.

They are your rifles do as you see fit and what works best for you.

I have found Pelican to be the most sturdy but pricey. Plano is decent but not on Pelicans level. If flying, I would go Pelican. If transporting to the range and back INSIDE your vehicle, a soft case is plenty. In the back of a P/U or trunk and you love your rifle/scope, I would go hard case.

I use the cheap Midway drag bags, or the voodoo tactical double bag for my shorter stuff.

This is what I use for my rifles.

As Divernhunter said - I too have hard and soft cases.
If you are just going to the range - soft cases work just fine.
I've used soft cases for years transporting scoped long gun back and forth on range trips and never had an never had an issue.
Stay away from the cheap ones - they don't last, buy one decent one and you're done.

None of my scoped rifles would fit in there

26-30" barrels and Long action problems.

I see a lot of guys put tube guns in this case.
