    AR trigger reset problem

    Hey all
Just finished my first AR build but having trouble with the trigger reset... The gun shoots fine on the first shot, but the trigger will not reset on the second shot, instead it needs a little nudge to knock the trigger forward into the reset position... The lower is an Anderson and the trigger is just out of a parts kit. The build went smoothly just noticed that the trigger was somewhat tight against the walls of the FCG. Any help is appreciated ( and a ALG defense trigger is on its way)

Be sure your trigger spring is installed correctly.

And double check the disconnector spring while you are at it, there is a small end and a large end - large end goes into the trigger tail.

You did install the trigger first, then the hammer? Is this a 100% finished Anderson or made from a 80% Anderson blank?

Yes it's a finished Anderson lower. I double checked and everything is installed properly

you might want to remove the hammer, and work the trigger and see if it is binding, and if the trigger return spring seems like it has sufficient power to return the trigger to the default position. You could also have a bad disconnector, or like you said if the trigger is tight maybe the width is out of spec. Sometimes the cheapy LPKs have wonky parts.

Do you have calipers to measure the width of the FCG pocket? It could just be a thick layer of anodizing too...

I have had very good luck with all my Andersons, I really like them a lot - never had any problem.

          Can DI AR's run dirty?

thanks for the tips. I will take it apart within the next week and triple check everything as i did before, and probably put a new FCG in anyway (ALG defense)

Just be sure the disconnetor spring is large side down

And that it has a "large" side because if it doesn't .... it's the bolt hold open latch spring.

If the trigger is binding in the lower (without a spring or any other parts than the trigger and trigger pin, you need to stone the sides of the trigger where they rub the receiver until the trigger moves freely.

                      hey all,
just wanted to report back. reset problem is fixed now, as i installed a new trigger. after measuring the tolerances with a calipers, the sides of the trigger were actually over the measurement of the fcg channel. thanks for all the help

Andersen has some of the roughest parts i have seen in LPK's, i would not recommend them anymore.
