Why not try a few bullet selections first? Mine shoots really good at 100 yards with Federal ball, and I will soon start reloading for it as well. I have some .311 jacketed bullets, as well as some .308 110 FMJ's as well, so we will see what happens.
BTW, even the comm-bloc steel stuff works reasonably well; using iron sights, 8" round plates are no issue when snap shooting at 100 yards.

Part of the reason why I started this thread was that there wasn't much info out there when I googled reloding for CZ 527s as well. All good info and I don't think I'll be needing to really reload for it til we need non-lead for hunting. Or want to push out the bullet's potential.

You might want to have kendog4570 go in with his reamer so you can shoot heavy,s single loaded.

My 308 Kreiger barreled mauser goes 18 moa from 200 to 500 meters with 155 Palma bullets, hardly drops like a rock.

        Beware of tribal legends.

I bought the CZ 527 just for shooting cheap ammo but it did so well I decided to reload for it. RL7, H4198 and 123 grain Sierra, Hornady in .311 diameter have all worked very well for me. FWIW, I put a Burris Timberline 4.5 to 14X on the rifle - very small scope, sits will on the little carbine.

Great little rifles they are. In this day and age of black plastic, pistol grips, huge magazines, and piles of railed surfaces, it is fun to get back to more traditional blue steel and wood, if for nothing more than a hike through the pasture in search of game, or a fun afternoon at the range. It is a very sweet, compact, lightweight scaled down version of the Mauser 98.
For anyone living near Ventura County, John and crew over at VC Defense may still have a new example on the wall.

8 MOA. Even Mini 14's shoot better than that.

Snap shooting with iron sights: from either low-ready, or with buttstock on hip, upon signal engage target using 2.0 second par time. Takes a lot of practice, but it can be done. This is not bench rest shooting.

Move to ammo/reloading or go search castboolits forum or cz forum

Just picked up the rifle. The set trigger is NUTS. Its like 6oz or something crazy. The second you put your finger on the trigger it goes off.

So are you happy or unhappy with that? You know can shoot it with the trigger in the heavy or light mode, and you can adjust it. I love my CZ527 in 223Rem, very accurate, and I use the set trigger for bench or bipod shooting only. Heavy trigger for all other modes.

                      From CZ's web site: http://cz-usa.com/news/the-cz-single...rigger-system/
"The SST allows for both a standard hunting trigger and a light target trigger in the same rifle."

Yea, its nice to have a "target shooting" and "hunting" trigger.

The "regular" trigger is easily adjustable, I tend to use it and not the set. If you separate barreled action from stock you'll see how the set trigger works, how it and the regular trigger can be adjusted. In set mode the spring powered trigger slaps the sear connector, takes a little time for all that to happen.

Much as I like the 527 trigger, it's a bit soft because the trigger presses a sear connector and the connector moves the sear - imparts a little mushiness to the pull.

I select which trigger mode to use on my .223 527 Carbine in the same way. Love having the options.

I have a Charles Daly Mini Mauser action that I will build up into a 7.62X39 fun gun, ...one of these days. Have a slightly used Krieger .308 X-course barrel. Of course, the chamber will be 7.62X39 Lapua. The minis are nice because they can be fit with all kinds of custom triggers.
