Action ended up costing $159 with shipping and the bolt was $194.98 but I forgot to order the firing pin assembly.
Went with a 0.590 boltface diamond fluting 0.062 firing pin 0.704 bolt body and a threaded bolt handle.
Gonna make it a 338 Norma Ackley Improved because I already have the fireforming barrel and brass.
Randall if your interested in putting it together let me know.

Get the reamer and a headspace gauge and I can true the receiver and put it together.
I have PTG 338 pilots already.
Get back to me to make an appointment once you have everything in-hand.

I just won my third ultra mag action on GunBroker. I paid $135 $139 and $140 plus $20 shipping each on all 3 actions.
Two are in transit and one I won this morning.
The PTG bolts run about $275 fully outfitted with a tig welded handle and all the options.
You end up with a very nice piece for around $450+ Gunsmithing.
The only option I don't have is the side bolt release.

The short actions and long actions have been selling for around $205.
The ultramags have been averaging about $138
Nobody has put any stainless actions up for auction for under $275.

Just got an E-mail from Pacific Tool and Gauge that my bolts have been shipped.
20 days from placing my order to shipping them out.
For those that don't order these parts that is very fast service especially since they spend a lot of time at The Shot Show.

Guess they decided to sell parts rather than take on the liability lawsuits due to their triggers.

                              Randall,

Would you recommend these over a Surgeon/Defiance, or other high end, aftermarket action, or are these more of an entry-level step for those looking for a more cost effective run at the precision rifle game?

No matter how many threads I read here (or on CAPRC), I can't pull the trigger on an aftermarket action or a ready to go Remington 700.

Also, thanks for all the info you keep sharing.
