Converting 700 Remington to a magazine setup. Differences?

I am new to this whole world, and was wondering if anyone could offer some advice.

I am looking to add a magazine system to my .308 5R, and was wondering the differences between the Badger M5 BDM ($350) and the other BDM systems (HS Precision, etc for a couple hundred dollars less.)

Are you just paying for the name? Or is the quality that much better?

Some use proprietary mags and most use AI mags

Some BM require stock modification some do not

Most up grade their stocks and buy better ones that come with BM inlets of buy

I got a system from PT&G (pacific tool and gauge) and am very happy with it. It did not need hardly any stock modification at all.

PT&G has worked well for me, on several rifles.

The ones that "drop-in" without modification to the stock will all use proprietary (expensive) magazines.
What you want is one that will accept an AICS magazine as that is the gold standard for bolt action magazines.
These will all require modifications to the stock.
My recommendation is PTG as they are all the quality of a badger without the badger price.
I do the stock work if you happen to be in the los angeles area.

Barrel, sight and trigger work on most pistols and shotguns.
            Most work performed while-you-wait.

I use a dbm setup from McKees precision. They run about $450 and they include a free rifle chassis with every purchase.

I've used them, yes the flat Timney will fit fine. Doesn't bottom out, no cutting required to slip in.

This was my next question (without realizing it). I purchased the flat timney trigger for my 700

If it won't fit out-of-the-box, it's only a little milling to get it to clear.
