Yeah, that didn't work so well but it WAS fun

Bry, try knocking that load down a bunch if you're still above 34grs, there's no prize for the fastest bullet. Start over at 32.2 and go up in .04 increments, try .010" in and .010" off. I've always found a couple nodes between that and 33.6. Seating depth test the best.
If you can get that firebreathing Shehane to group you can Dasher, too.
I'm going to drop down to the 3000-3030 fps range. I already made some loads with Varget from 32.9gr to 33.5gr. Going to also mess with 105 VLD and 108BT and see how that compares to the 105 hybrids.

I agree, it is a hot load, probably close to or at max. Although, I did not see any pressure signs. Bolt lift was easy, no cratering and I just put primers into the pockets of the dashers I just shot the "hot" load and they were still super tight.

I am not going to mess with the dasher until after nationals. Don't need to get my mind twisted before a big match, so I spun the barrel off, put my shehane barrel on and it isn't coming off until after the CA long range state, which is the week after FCN. Steve was pulling my target and was telling me I popped a 4 shot group that looked like an inch group Now, I just need to do that when it matters and for 120 shots....

      Norma Dasher

      Just thinking out loud here...

What's gonna be interesting is what the neck wall thickness will come in at. I have a bunch of the current Norma 6BR brass that I bought for a Dasher varmint rifle project and a loaded round with an unturned neck comes in right at .270ish.

Not a big deal, I turn all my necks anyway. For someone wanting a
no-turn setup it could be an issue with all the .2704" neck dia. reamers being popular for the no neck turn Lapua brass set-ups. I can see some 'smiths goin' back and dusting off all their old .272" neck reamers if the new brass doesn't more closely match the Lapua blue box stuff.

For those wanting a no turn set-up, I think I would gather parts now & take a "wait-n-see" approach before ordering up a reamer.

I've seen a bunch of posts from guys who are really good, stating they've had issues getting the hybrids to shoot or continue to shoot (i.e., used to do well & now, not so much).

The 108BT's have been REALLY good for me. I'm told the VLD's are a bit more finicky to find a load for, but if you do, they're tough to beat. The 103 Vapor Trails seem to be a little better for me, but at twice the cost of the 108's. Bart's new 105's seem to be winning a bunch right now too.

I shoot 33.3 gr Varget in all my Dashers. For best groups I do use different seating depths but wouldn't be afraid to use any load in any of my rifles, they all do "well enough" (same reamer, 4 rifles). My freebore @ .104" is shorter than yours though.

My reamer as already posted is 0.104 freebore as well. If you have more freebore go up a 0.1 or 0.2 and you should be there.
Berger makes a 105 BT that is extremely easy to get to shoot when they are consistent.
Buy a 1000 bullets sort them by bearing surface and sell everything not in your biggest pile. Cheaper than buying CopperHeads or VaporTrails and no lengthy wait.

I have a .155 FB on my Dasher reamer with a .271 neck.

I turn my brass so whatever the Norma 6 dasher brass thickness ends up being, I'll turn them down probably to 0.012" anyways. Just as a sidenote, the 284 brass that Shiraz just made, they are MUCH thicker than lapua's 6.5x284 brass. Lapua comes in around 0.0145" average and Norma's brass comes in at 0.016" area. I wonder if that will be indicative of what is to come from Norma for the 6 Dasher.

I too, have heard rumors about the 105 hybrids shooting poorly, but Killshot will tell you otherwise. He seems to be able to drive them quite nicely. Let's not forget that the barrel itself might be the issue also. I have not had a "bad" barrel yet, but I like to think I keep develop a load and get something to shoot well normally, but at some point you are just wasting money on trying to get a barrel to shoot well.
