    I have Remington tactical 20inch barrel .223
Awesome rifle and fun gun to start learning long distance shooting. You can get the standard barrel than tactical version. I only got the tactical version because I wanted something I can hike, run, and easier to attach into my bug out pack.

That rifle will take you a long way and it's the best bang for the buck.
This right here. Once you go Master on the service rifle you are over the hump and you can shoot most rifles well. It's the cheapest way to get there.

Tikka JRTN512 T3: 24" 1:8, adjustable cheek piece, short LOP, Mag Fed. It's an excellent prone or 3P .223 match rifle for exactly the same cost as a National Match AR15 (however the AR comes with sights).

weg: That device is obsolete now. They replaced it with wizards.
frank: Wait a minute. There are more than one wizard? Is [are?] the wizard calibrated?

I put together a .223 to teach my nephews to shoot long range with me. Savage 12 LRP action, Savage F Class takeoff barrel, shooting black hills reman 77 smk. Took it out to 1K while shooting with my 6.5 CM. Made 1K no problem, other than the wind. Here's a 10 shot group at 100 yards shot prone with bipod and rear bag just after zeroing the scope.

Feeds well out of the MDT polymer magazines too. Took it out to 1K while shooting with my 6.5 CM. Made 1K no problem, other than the wind.
