How many rounds do you usually go thru per gun? If I can get my new base by then I may try to get there (if I can get it by the wife). My spotter will be with his friends but that cuts my ammo bill in half too.

Thanks for the vote of confidence Lynn, but I'm bringing a friend that will shoot his 375 Cheytac on a DTA HTI chassis. Ballistically, he should have the advantage. And I have a feeling WMamba has much more potential than what we saw last time. Either way the talent pool will be full on this event.

Bob, I shot around 20 rounds at the 2050 in the comp and 10 more at 2500 last event. I was lucky to get hits on my second and third shot in qualifying so my round count was low. I'd say bring a minimum of 50 rounds per rifle.

If I make it, I can help hang targets. I'll make WhiteMamba look like a 12 year old.

We got done late last time because we shot 2500 to see if the location would work for us and it did.
If we meet up at 7:30 and people have there paperwork done we should be qualifying at 8:30 AM.
We line up two or three shooters at a time and fire 10 rounds.
If you win you move on.
After the individual relays are over we line the winners up and everyone watches the light arrays looking for hits.
I use a 10 gauge ammo tray to keep score.
I use a empty 50 BMG round for a miss and a live round for a hit until 10 rounds have been fired.
We had a shooter stop firing when Shaun could not be beat or tied last match but doing that took him out for his qualification hits.
Shaun was the only shooter earning points towards the next step.
Long story short 1 PM sounds about right but you can shoot all day if you want to.
I for some reason will shoot until I have no ammo left.

I didn't know we were bringing Chytac to the party... I might bring my 30-06 for testing but it looks like it will be my 338 lapua for score.

You can bring any legal gun you have and last time out Shaun won it all with a 300 win mag against 338's 408 cheytac and 50 BMG.

                  We all want that!
You will never, in your life, have a chance like this again.
If I were you, I would not pass this up. I would not let this go by...this is rare.

Momma is not happy when I bought it up. If I do make it I'll bring my 50BMG and a 7mm Mag but I will have to swap scopes between them to get the distance.

If you want to watch binoculars or a spotting scope is your best bet.
You don't hear the gong ring when it gets hit. We have light arrays about 50 feet from the gongs and when a shooter hits the gong the lights flash yellow.

                        Lynn:

Small screen is very doable. In fact, we'll be looking at our paper target up close and personal during our SoCal shoots using a TargetCam (older model, smaller screen).

Lynn - good time to call Keith and follow up on his offer (larger screen model).

                          Location confusion

I checked the map program on my IPad. It shows Highway 29 meeting Hwy 20 in two places. It sounds strange but it's true. I would love to come watch, but my 308 peters out at 1000.

                          Best,

                          Dave

Come out and you can shoot my 338 Norma Ackley Improved.
We meet up on hwy 20 and hwy 29 on the west side of clear lake. Your map might be showing you a road coming off of 29 hitting 20.

                              Thanks for the kind offer

That is an offer that will be hard to refuse. I have been impressed that we have been able to shoot, for that matter see, and hit our targets at 1000. Even with that experience, I can't imagine doubling it. I have been planning a build but without experiencing it first hand, some ideas would help.

                                We will be there

Your offer was so good, we're coming. There will be three, me, my son, and a nice young man who is shooting with his wife on occasion. If you need us to help out in any way, let us know. I will have a good spotting scope. I have a ton of boar sausage if anyone was BBQing. Otherwise, we will be there at 7:30.

                                Thanks again,
