      Mine's still very new - only a couple range trips - but it ranges from "very tight" to "I though this thing panned and canted". I can't move it around at all when it's not mounted on the rifle. When it is mounted, even if I loosen it up all the way, the legs might move if I lift the rifle at all while panning. The weight of the rifle (~10lbs) isn't enough for it to cant to one side or the other,

      I assume it will loosen up over time, but I don't think it will ever be "loose."

        I Have the XDS Heavy duty model on AR 10 308 24" bull barrel a Heavy Gun can't keep the cant tight due to the weight and kick. Has been returned under warrenty because of it.
