Best Bore Guide and Cleaning Rod?

I'm using Proshot cleaning rods now. They are fairly stiff and have a full line of cleaning stuff, bore guides,patches, brushes and so on. Pretty reasonably priced. A little off topic but I have been using these instead of patches. It's amazing how much dirty stuff comes out in one pass.

Montana X-treme rods, outstanding cleaning rod. I have Tipton and they'd be my second choice, but I hate Dewey rods... piece of junk.

Currently using dewey bore guide on .308, (side note, JP bore guide for AR is awesome.), but I'm still kicking myself for not buying a Lucas bore guide years ago. Not sure if they're still being made.

I use the following now, after trying several other option through the years:

Yep you hit it on the head you have to call and see if he makes a bore guide for your rifle.
On the cleaning most shooters don't allow the cleaner to work. They are in a hurry and never let it do its job.
In general I use GM Top Engine cleaner for the carbon and 50 BMG copper killer on the copper.
BUT if its my 50's I use 28% ammonia.
If your using foam put a flexible brake line on the nozzle and spray it from the action to the muzzle and keep the muzzle slanted down.
If you goof up and fill your action use some Rosignol lighter fluid to flush your trigger

Hmm... never thought of using engine cleaner for carbon buildup. But now that I think about it, it makes a lot of sense.

They seemed like a gimmick when I first saw pictures (and also b/c Remington quality and new products seem to be going down hill), but if it's getting most of the gunk out in one pass, it wouldn't hurt to try one for $3

They seemed like a gimmick when I first saw pictures (and also b/c Remington quality and new products seem to be going down hill), but if it's getting most of the gunk out in one pass, it wouldn't hurt to try one for $3

RE: carb or brake cleaner, either will remove ALL oilor grease and leave the metal looking dull or gray until you re oil your metal.
The squeeg-es are Remington branded, not Remington made.
