    Remington 700 Muzzle Brakes

Hey guys, looking to get some ideas for a brake to put on my 5-R chambered in .308

Wanted to see if anyone was willing to post up some pics of your brakes, and give me a bit of info on if you would recommend it, and if you're happy with the overall performance of it.

I'll be getting my barrel threaded soon and would like to get some type of idea on what I'll be wanting to put on it.

    Thanks,
    Ryan

Picking my rifle up from GA Precision in a few hours, I'll post pics when I can.

I am loving the Ross Schuler brakes. That's what I put on my 5R.
$45 delivered, can't beat that. Simple and effective design.

I just ordered one of these for my father in laws 308. He will make it whatever diameter you want so it will match the profile of the barrel.

I have a couple of Ross Schuler brakes. They work great, and make a big difference in the recoil. His customer service is second to none. I recommend him highly.

Harrell's Precision all the way. Here are two that came in the mail last week sitting on the invoice. One is 1-1/4 inches in diameter tactical and the other is 1.5 inches in diameter with radial holes. Total was $75 delivered and like two of the ones posted already no holes on the top of the tactical brake. They also sell tuner/brakes. They have a huge list of sizes too big too list so here is there website. www.HarrellsPrec.com

Just got done getting my Barrel threaded by Marc at Spartan Rifles. He did a great job and very fast service.

Added a Gen II Little Bastard Brake to the end of it. Unfortunately I ran out of time over the weekend to go try it out, so this Sunday is set for that.

Our muzzle brakes are an industry leader!  Our Gen 2 is a two-piece design that allows the shooter to quickly install or remove their muzzle brake for whatever reason.  Say goodbye to crush washers, peel washers, or the need for a professional installation. Your hands and a crescent wrench are all that is needed.  We o

One thing that I am interested in with this brake is being able to adjust it by half turns to lengthen the brake. When I was talking with Marc for Spartan Rifles, he mentioned this to me and said i should do half rotations with the brake to be able to fine tune the harmonics on the rifle.

Will have more info on the brake next week.

Where are you located and where are you planning on getting your barrel threaded?

                    ^That.

You'll want a stainless brake on your stainless R700 5r barrel. Most of the aftermarket ones are finished black, and will look silly. So, you will pay more for the finishing and probably want it removed unless you are cerakoting your barrel. You order them contoured to your barrel, then they are installed and timed for a nice clean fit.

Harrell's looks great! My smith blended the brake to the barrel. I have one on my 338 Edge barrel. Can't wait to shoot it and piss off the shooter next to me. Gotta wait until march madness at coalinga and sac valley are done though

                        Badger Thruster

I'll test it out this weekend if I decide to go shoot in subzero temps.

Effectiveness and looks are pretty much opposite ends of the spectrum.
The JP is the most effective muzzle brake made.
Pick what's important to you, better effectiveness or better looks and buy accordingly...
