I need to get mags that fit in there better. I think I saw maybe the SP-01 mags may fit? Does anyone know if I can just get the base plates and stick them on?

I have standard 16 round (blocked to 10, of course) 75B mags, not SP-01.

SP-01 18rd blocked to 10rds mag should be able to seat so the mag catch will latch on or Springer performance makes aluminum base pads that may work. Their is nothing under the front strap obstructing the SP-01 mag base pads from fully seating.
