It looks like plug is not sitting on the axis of dust cover (not centered). Weird to see it. I might assume (not a statement) guid rod for recoil spring is not parralel to barrel axis. How this can affect performance?
In the mean time on Shadow 2Orange it is on the axis of dust cover

Are you referring to the guide rod? I bet it's the camera angle.

Here is the guide rod on an S2O (center). The camera angle also makes the guide rod look off center:

If you have a closer look, I think what you are seeing is a shadow as a result of lighting, which looks like empty space.

If you look at your photo and compare, you will see that this area is actually frame material, not empty space.
