Any body else have one of the surplus M17's? If so, post 'en up.

Through the M17 Facebook group I was able to find out that mine was issued to a M240B gunner in B Co 1/327 101 Airborne.

I got one let me dig up some Pictures really low SN too.

So this is exactly how it was when I opened the box. You can tell this wasnt a Marines weapon as it was really dirty. But it has some use but overall in good condition considering military surplus.

Please do, I would like to see it. If your not in the Facebook M17 group, you should consider joining as they have several members that are active military and they research the numbers to find out where a particular gun was issued. I was thrilled to find out that they could trace mine to a particular unit.

They certainly can. I was looking at one of those just before the surplus ones hit the market. I would have picked one up except I couldn't find one at a price I was willing to pay and then the USGI M17's became available, so I opted to go with a surplus gun.

There was a small lot sold by Sig recently because they swapped them for the black controls. I would imagine they were gone quickly, so you would have to find one on the second hand market. I have seen one in the classifieds here for big $$$

Sig sells the M17 commercially. They aren't the same as the surplus and commemorative models, but it's still a M17. I want the M17 and M18. Also thinking about getting the betas of both.
