    P320 vs....

OK so I reluctantly sold my p938 to fund a p320... i broke the cardinal rule, NSYS (never sell your sigs) followed by rule #2, NSYG (never sell your guns). Been down this path before and swore i would never do it again... but i digress

Looking for a P320 9mm fullsize with plans of adding the 357sig or 45 subcompact conversion when it becomes available.
Availability of the P320, along with the outrageous markup... is frustrating.

What I'm aiming for is a fullsize 9mm DA/SA or Striker for the house, easier recoil management for my wife. Then either a 45 or 357 subcompact for the glorious day thay san diego /ca gets CCW. Already have a Colt Defender and XDs45.

Slightly considering a XD9 fullsize and maybe a G29 or G33, which would probably come out to about the same price.
I currently have a Xds45 and XD9sc, so I'm comfortable with that line. I "dislike" glocks for the same reason I dislike Chevys and Dodges... becauss I'm a SIG guy and a Ford guy.

What do you guys think? Is the P320 worth the wait and markup?
Or is having 2 separate guns with 2 different purposes worth sacrificing my fanboyism and SIG snobism?

The sig p320 is nice. I have the medium carry and it's actually a little shorter than the Glock 19 gen 4 I have. If you plan on CCW it's perfect. It feels really well made. In all truth, it doesn't matter what size or calibre you buy. The kits can change the size, color, and caliber as you just pop out the trigger pack to whatever configuration you desire. I haven't had the chance to shoot mine so it's still brand new with the sig wrap. I have no plans on selling it, but if someone offered me a deal I can't refuse I will consider selling it.

realllllly considering the XD9 tactical for 499 at turners.... would still have a couple hundred left over to out towards a g29 or g33 later.... hmmmmm....

only downside to the p320 is if I am using it for home defense, then I am obviously not going to be carrying it when CCW comes..

the flip is if I am carrying it, it's not going to be in the nightstand....

2 guns does sound better than 1.... but 1 sig does sound better than a XD and glock lol

Honestly the XD and the Glock are really nice handguns. I would much rather have two than one. The sig was more of a "just get it now because of sse" as I won't have a chance later on. The sig is also more of a want purchase than a need to fulfill purchase. Novelty I suppose.

i hear ya. I'm big on novelty purchases and big on sigs. its that stubbornness that. prevents me from making practical purchases

Can your wife rack the slide on a semi auto?

I like the 320 over the vp9 but my wife can't rack the 320.

She can rack the vp9 because of the charge support.

              Food for thought.

I picked up a P320 C during the SSE craziness. Even though I'm sure I paid too much for it I'm very happy.

It's tough to make a apples to apples comparison between the P320 and my son's XD. Different calibers I have a 9 and the XD is a 45. The fit and feel of the Xd is nice but I don't like the trigger at all. Even though he's put a lot of rounds thru it.

After a few hundred rounds my Sig feels good. As soon as I can get a .45 kit I'm going to be upgrading.

                Good luck in your search.

probably not, but the home defense guns are always loaded and chambered. I should probably be looking for a 38 or 357....

yeah, last year I must have bought 6 or 7 SSE guns... i wasn't big on striker fire yet... now I'm kicking myself in the butt for not getting one.

my 2 XD guns have OK triggers. not the best but they aren't bad at all. I have read that the P320 trigger is pure awesome...

Not the same, and the long double action trigger pull takes getting used to, but there's 1 model of the P250 still on the roster.

Uses the same grip frame and magazines as the P320, in case you pick one up down the road.

I ended up getting one via SSE because I couldn't find the roster version. Trigger pull is longggggggggg but smooth.

Personally, I like to shoot my Witness Elite Match & PPQ's more than the P320. Having said that, I would never sell my P320. It's so damn versatile, it couldn't be replaced.

I think eventually, we will see some sort of 80% FCG avail for them and the P320 will become the AR of handguns, mark my word... MARK IT!!!

I also have 2 XD's, while nice... They don't compare at all to any of the guns mentioned above. Apples & Oranges

Why not buy two Sigs? P226 in 9mm for home and P220 for CCW. P250 is a long pull DAO and most people can't get it right so they shoot a bit wildly.

I'm pretty sure the P250 SS on the roster is a unicorn? Is it still being made? I don't think so?

right now my budget is $1000 including fees.

                              i do have a P226 scorpion and a Mk25

also had 3 p220s including a p245 for ccw... sold those to buy my XDs and X-six... also have a p227 equinox to fill the void from my old p220s.

Right now I'm trying to work a deal for a used XD40sc and new xd9 tactical... after tax and DROS in about $30 shy.... sad day lol, definitely a different financial situation than last year.

XD40sc will get the 357sig treatment, of course.
