Maybe I missed something, but why don't you simply go to your favorite FFL and ask them to order it for you? Certain guns can take a long time for the store to receive it but if it's on-roster 'most' can order it. Of course sometimes a larger LGS can get their orders faster than a small one.

Trying to fiddle and fudge the sku , from an out of state reseller, to fit your needs is a no win situation.

To throw another wrench in the works there are sometimes 2 parts to the model/package numbers. The first part is the SKU, the second is the package. For example, the Springfield XD 4" 9mm is on the roster, model XD9101.

        XD9101 / Steel, Polymer Pistol 4.08" 9mm 1/1/2016

It comes from the manufacturer in two packages, HCSP06 (High cap mags) or SP06 (10 round mags). The XD9101 is on the roster, no mention of the "package" but it is required that it has 10 round magazines for CA obviously (unless exempt). So when the FFL does the DROS the only thing that goes on the form is XD9101. If you find an XD9101 HCSP06 and have it sent to your FFL without the mags it IS legal to DROS in CA as an XD9101, since that is all that is on roster and all that goes into DROS. XD9101 is the GUN and is CA compliant, the "HCSP06" describes the magazines and is not mentioned whatsoever on the roster or DROS. And YES, I have done this with a very knowledgeable, diligent, and experienced FFL.

I'm not sure if you're serious but in this case I had to provide a 10 round mag.

Ship it without the factory box if the only place the sku is on is there.
