S&W M&P 9mm VTAC

I went through a bunch of hoops to acquire this pistol and have it shipped to me, but I finally have it in my hands. I carry an M&P 9mm already so this weapon is familiar to me, although the sights are very different. I will be taking it to the range to break it in and check reliability with hollow points. My other one eats anything so I hope this one is the same.

I prefer Streamlight weapon lights but I love the FDE color of the X300U. It was on sale so I couldn't resist. Range report to follow!

Nice Bob, I have owned one in .40 for a while now. Around 2000 rounds fired, been a great gun. I like the sights, not great for target shooting but really good for fast run in gun. Also hit the lottery with the trigger, reset not the best but the pull is better then my Pro.

That sucks. Well, I bought it as a keeper and personal SD weapon. I'm not going to try to take advantage of the roster situation and sell it.

They had one as Quantico Tactical when I went a week or so ago. It has "hater-aid" all over it. Its that stinking FDE finish and sights that makes me want it. +1 on that FDE light. Where did you get yours by chance?

I bought mine on Gunbroker from Osage County Guns and they shipped it to my FFL.

This is a very pretty pistol and that's why my girls wanted me to keep it for them to shoot.

My only negative comment is that the FDE finish is easily worn. My Raven phantom holster is hard on the corners.

What's up with the 6D sights? Never seen that before.

I have it in 40 but I got one that was part of a bad batch. Break on the trigger was heavy and terrible, mags would get stuck after the hitting the mag release. However it's been a dream to shoot after the full Apex trigger upgrade. The sights were difficult to hit bullseye at long range so changed it out to Trijicon HDs and is now much better at long range. It's my favorite to draw from a holster but it better be after investing so much into it.
