My favorite is my lgs that still refuses to sell a ksg for les than 1200. When I reminded them that is an 800 dollar gun, they said that they sell every one they order.
Of course, they're the only game in town and we're a long way from another town but I digress.

I have only bought one gun from Turners, and it was a display model. It was the last one they had in their computer, and I told them I was not going to pay full retail for a gun that had been handled buy a ton of customers. They knocked some money off the gun. Another thing to think about when trying to get a little discount.

I think that's what is called the California premium. From what I have seen it's pretty much across the board.

I don't think that's the CA premium, it's just Turners wanting too much for a gun. Rifle Gear has it for under $1,500. A VP9 going for $1,000 is a CA premium.

AB in Ontario was $1699 last night for the SS TRP (if I remember correctly)....better off using GunBroker and paying the shipping/transfer.

I picked up my TRP via PPT for $950. I was at Oak Tree and a guy came in asking about consignment. He was looking to sell a gun. I overheard the conversation and asked what he had in the Springfield case. It was a TRP and I bought it from him right on the spot.

$1700 is a lot for a non-railed TRP. I paid that for my brand new TRP Full Rail which is definitely more expensive then a non-rail.

Stainless is actually cheaper then the Armory Kote as well. So that was way over priced!

Actually, the OP confirmed that it was a non rail. It was another member who stated it was a half rail.

Both the stainless and the black armory kote TRP's have the same MSRP of $1,646. The stainless is not cheaper.

You may be thinking about the Dan Wesson's which have a price difference between the stainless and duty black models.

Actually for springfields, depending on which shop you look at (rifle gear, island view ) stainless has more of a premium. That is typically due to machining of stainless costing more vs carbon steal. Dan Wesson on the other hand has all their guns made of stainless, which shows why a coating would cost more.

As I noted, the MSRP's are the same for both the stainless and the black armory kote TRP. What the retailer decides to sell it for is a whole different discussion. Your stainless versus carbon steal comment is accurate and I agree but it has nothing to do with the TRP.
