^^^ actually he referred to the valley in the trigger gaurd that was pinching his finger. He only complained about the valley in the guard and the finger grooves on the grip.

HK45 "Range Report"

More or less. Although sounds like he was ticked off by the whole trigger guard and mag release combo. I find it interesting that he says he wouldn't use an HK45 out of the box. And although he doesn't mention the accidental mag release as a problem for him, it seems to occur with some frequency if you search online. At least for out of the box pistols if you don't change backstraps.

I was unaware of this until these comments prompted me to research. Fortunately, I do not experience this issue. I shoot with and without gloves.
He also states that as a result of being a savvy end user, he doesn't use any gun out of the box without modifications.
I'm sorry to hear that broseph; good luck with the sale though!Comment

I ditched the charge to glow in the dark sights and went to my preferred tritium solution.
That is one thing I think is worth changing.

Indeed, Bill Springfield is amazing. He did my USP45 and it is comparable to many fine 1911 triggers. I recently got a HK45 and a VP9 and am having a very difficult time adjusting to the HK45 sights. The "dead on hold sight picture" has been tortuous to say the least. No problem with the VP9. I love the ergos of the HK45 but can't even get close on target. Maybe need some private instruction and just definitely more practice.Comment

^^^^ try shooting at farther distance. Both my hk45's are a 6 o'clock hold starting at about 15/18 yards, hitting just above the sight picture at 25 yards.Comment

I find owning HK pistols similar to owning a thoroughbred racehorse...a precision bred beast determined to do one thing well and obnoxiously stubborn to being asked to do otherwise. Take that same fine animal and demand it serve as a trotter, a warhorse, a plow horse, or beast of burden and it will defy you in every manner possible. Ask it only to do what it was bred to do, in the manner it was bred to do it, and you will be satisfied."A vote is like a rifle; it's usefulness depends upon the character of the user." - Theodore RooseveltComment

Thanks 96, I will give that a try. I really love the HK45 and am frustrated with my inabilty to perform. The VP9 also has been my favorite recent purchase. HK builds fine weapons and IMO is worth the dough and lives up to the hype in spite of my recent woes. Just dont understand all the HK haters out there. Oh and to Marquand......that is some deep comments there bud.......impressive.Comment
