Adjustable gas block or a pigtail gas tube with a spikes tungsten buffer.Originally posted by TeddyBallgamemaybe I'm wrong, but, if a $50.00 investment can help me a bit, i'll just have to go a day without the hookers and blow to cover it
Originally posted by ir0nclash86I would wipe it off for the simple fact of not wanting to get sprayed in the face with it during the first few rounds.Originally posted by Ride MadoneIt does not matter. An AR is the very best and safest weapon to use for home defence. -
Start w/ a standard buffer & spring & go from there. I use that set up on a 7 1/2 barrel & have no issues. No double feeds, no jams & bolt locks back every time on the last round.Comment

JP adjustable gas block and a standard buffer is all you'll need for it to cycle reliable. Using steel case ammo is a crap shoot on feeding and extracting.Last edited by Munny$hot; 01-21-2015, 7:19 PM.Can DI AR's run dirty?

This^^
Before you go running full wild set ups, springs and add ons. Run a standard spring and buffer and see how things go for the first 100 rounds.
I've shot a ton of pistols one of which is my own on standard buffer and buffer spring and all but 3 have run 100%. 2 needed adj gas blocks and the other needed a H spring and buffer set.
Start with the basics. Start with factory standard. Then adjust accordingly.Last edited by CK_32; 01-21-2015, 8:24 PM.Comment

amen i hear of so many peoples problems but it worked fine for me twice
carbine spring and 3 oz bufferComment

also i see there are some buffers out there with a hard plastic bumper
make sure you use one that your thumbnail will dig into a little
i just use the standard gas tube
i mostly shoot my reloads which are slightly downloaded
also make sure you have a bolt that has a strong extractor spring it doesnt have to be excessive it just has to not be weak
i was having a bit of a problem i bought a cheap bcg and intermitant failures to extract i traded it out with my carbines one and it worked fine
the weaker bolt one works in my carbine it was just a fine threshold
its hard to explain the tension i could move the extractor with my thumb a bit on the one that caused issued and the other i could not budge with my naked thumb

I have a 7.5 also. The above advise is what I would give.
I haven't had any issues. I've only had a few hundred rounds threw it so far though.sigpicComment

Yup, i started with H buffer. Shot i and it was a little on the fast side. I took the buffer apart and casted a lead weight the same size. It came out to be 4.8oz or something.. a tad heavier then H2. Solved the problem.Originally posted by GottmitunsIt's not protecting the rights of the 1%, it's IMPOSING new laws because of the 1%.Comment

On my 7.5 I ended up with an H3 buffer and heavier extractor spring to get it to run without a hiccup.
Now no issues and eats any ammo.
Start with what you got and chart from there. Try different ammo, different bullet weights, different mags etc. Note any problems and makes changes only if needed. It may run fine how it is.Comment
