If you can, rent a 30 and a 36. To me, there is a world of difference. I have a 30 and a 30SF, as well as the 36. If you want to come down this way, you can shoot them all.

Should I get a Glock 36?

Consider also hand-size.
While the G36 is thinner, it is also a little deeper. Circumference is ~ 1/8" greater than that of your G19/26.
The other .45ACP GLOCKs, even the "SF" variety, are on the large circumference frame, and get big quick for medium sized hands.

I prefer the 30S. It is a 30SF mated to a 36 slide. I was lucky to get three over the last year, and they are all Gen 3. I don't believe any have been produced in Gen 4, but would like to find out.Comment

I've had mine for a couple years for all of the reasons listed above.Coupla things:
- The G36 is thin in the grip, thinner than the G19/26.
- The G36 magazines are thinner and lighter than the G19/26.
- The G36 is very precise.
- The .45ACP/230 gr., even in +P, is still sub-sonic and low pressure.
- The odds of needing more than Six(6) rounds of ammunition in a Self-Defense shooting? Are only 40% greater than that of being a Highway Fatality that same year.
So, the G36 carries very comfortably concealed, as does that extra mag or two. When you need it, in that room, vehicle, alleyway, corridor, etc., it will be accurate and not blow your ear-drums out. 6+1 is a lot of SD ammo on hand and the spare mag will cover the incalculable.
Carry what you shoot best.

Other than it being very small in my hands, it's a great little pistol.Last edited by H2O MAN; 01-13-2015, 2:51 PM.Comment

I would never have to justify buying another firearm. Especially a Glock.sigpic

The 36 is smaller than the 19.. single stack and all of that..36 is 19 sized with a mag in it plus a hair wider iirc. I would say 26 unless you love .45. 26 has capacity advantage over the 36 as well as being able to use 19 mags. You will need new holsters and mags/pouches for the 36 too.
My EDC is a 27 and I very rarely carry the 23 on my permit due to its size.
I will say it is always wise to buy more Glocks! Good luck!
I had a 36 and it was a VERY nice gun to carry.. very small and rounded.. and good if you are used to Glocks.Member: Patron member NRA, lifetime member SAF, CRPAOriginally posted by tony270It's easy to be a keyboard warrior, you would melt like wax in front of me, you wouldn't be able to move your lips.Comment
