    Should I get a Glock 36?

    For carry?

Basically, trying to evaluate the wisdom of getting a G36 when already have a 19/26.

Yes, get the 36 in addition to the 19/26, and the .45 justifies the capacity loss

No, you don't need a lower capacity gun since you already have the 19/26 and 9mm> 45

Well, the G36 only has a 6 round mag I believe. If you want a slim .45 for carry then it's great but then again....you only have like 6 rounds or so.

I wouldn't bother. Just use what you got.

36 is 19 sized with a mag in it plus a hair wider iirc. I would say 26 unless you love .45. 26 has capacity advantage over the 36 as well as being able to use 19 mags. You will need new holsters and mags/pouches for the 36 too.

My EDC is a 27 and I very rarely carry the 23 on my permit due to its size.

I will say it is always wise to buy more Glocks! Good luck!

There is an extension kit that pumps it up to 7+1.

Wait about a week or so, if you still want it, buy it.

                Also, G30>G36 IMHO.

If you want a single stack 45, get an XDS. It's smaller than a Glock 36.

The G36 is on the roster, but not the XDS. That may make a difference.

                      Coupla things:

                      - The G36 is thin in the grip, thinner than the G19/26.

                      - The G36 magazines are thinner and lighter than the G19/26.

                      - The G36 is very precise.

                      - The .45ACP/230 gr., even in +P, is still sub-sonic and low pressure.

                      - The odds of needing more than Six(6) rounds of ammunition in a Self-Defense shooting? Are only 40% greater than that of being a Highway Fatality that same year.

So, the G36 carries very comfortably concealed, as does that extra mag or two. When you need it, in that room, vehicle, alleyway, corridor, etc., it will be accurate and not blow your ear-drums out. 6+1 is a lot of SD ammo on hand and the spare mag will cover the incalculable.

                      Carry what you shoot best.

Since you are thinking about stepping up with us big boys (.45acp)(haha!), the G36 is a nice pistol, and I'm sure you've done your homework on it. For some reason, I didn't like mine but love my G30s. I think it was more of the capacity thing that bothered me for the size pistol that it is. I don't mind the capacity of my XD-s 45, since it's small enough to fit in my pocket. But if I have to carry a larger pistol in a IWB/OWB holster, I want my pistol to be able to hold more ammo.

In either case, I don't think adding another pistol to your collection will hurt your feelings

I've got a 36 and a 29. Honestly, if I had bought the 29 first, I probably wouldn't have bought the 36, but either way I do I like it and plan to keep it. Most of the time, it isn't thinner enough to justify losing 4 rounds of capacity, in my opinion. I do still like to have it on occasion, but these days I nearly always grab the 29 first. But since you don't have a .45 yet, I say go for it! But you should seriously consider the 30 before you decide, though. Has a rail and 10+1 capacity, same exact size as 36 except an 1/8" wider and a little heavier.
Settle down, folks. The new "ghost gun" regulations probably don't do what you think they do.

I like my 36 for summer carry in rattlesnake country - top two rounds are CCI shotshells.

It carries in the same IWB holster (Crossbreed Supertuck) as my 26. I prefer to shoot the 30, as it fills my hand better.

All in all, I like the 36 enough to keep it. Gold Dot Short Barrels are my ammo of choice.

Have a 1911 full size; I'm not getting the 36 as my first or only 45
