Will O'Hara can build you a gun that easily equals, probably exeeds anything coming out of Wilsons shop. And you can spec it to be exactly what you want.

I don't think there is anything quite like owning and shooting a custom built 1911 by a competent smith just for you.

Normally people plan to keep their custom builds for life, so residual value considerations are moot. If you do think you may want to sell the gun down the road, any number of semi custom guns will likely retain quite a bit more value than your personal custom.

Get what you really really want. I really wanted a nighthawk grp recon and settled on a mc operator. Not a bad 1911,but i had the GRP in the back of my mind and I kept thinking damn I should have just bought it. Lol. I ended up buying the GRP yesterday. Now my mind is clear.

I agree with others, if you really want the Wilson and you have the means, then get it, otherwise you'll always be in the "woulda shoulda coulda" mind set.

I started with a SA TRP Operator. Great gun for the money and overall a fantastic 1911 both in fit and finish. I too wanted a Wilson and passed on one on a LGS and regretted doing so. I then put up the TRP for sale and found a used WC CQB and for me there was a substantial difference between the 2 and found out why it was worth the extra cash.

I now have 4 Wilson Combat 1911's and am VERY happy with each one. The CS aspect of Wilson is second to none.

I would suggest scouring the marketplace here looking for one and look all over LGS for one. Get it and you will love it, if not you can sell it to me

I enjoyed my Nighthawk when I had it. I still really liked my Kimber though. I then had a TRP... The only one left is my Kimber. I recently shot a Wilson CQB and I was massively impressed. I really want to have one. My biggest SSE regret is not getting the DW Valor though.
