Everything South Of Red Bluff is "Southern California"

Sacramento = LA = SD = San Francisco........ Its all Southern Cal to me!

Give me a second to get into my bunker, Got a feeling I am gonna take in-comming shells from the Sacramento guys.....

Thank you for the offer, big50_1! I'll send you a PM when I get home from work.

I own a furniture and mattress company in South San Francisco and also a custom builder. Please let me know if you need anything for your home, I would love to return the generosity. Thank you!

            Yes

Stock up on the deals that you can get at Turners.

Sell in Nor Cal and make a profit.

Heck when the ten day waiting period goes away I may drive to Southern Cal for some of Turners' Deals.

Worth it if you only need to drive that trip once.

They let you shoot steel cased/magnetic ammo up here in the Bay Area. Almost every public range I've been too lets you. I know that it's very hard to find a place that allows you to shoot steel cased/magnetic ammo down south.

You could not be more wrong. When I visit my in-laws in the bay area I feel like I am in a different state. It's nothing like San Diego. As a matter of fact, the town where my place is in AZ feels more like SD than anything north of about Ventura.

Get your CCW from SD county first. Harder to get up here. At least you have one until you need to renew it.

And, start calling freeways by just the number and drop the "the" before the number. So you head north on "the 5" from SD and take "580" and "680" to Concord. If you call them "the 580" and "the 680", people can tell you're from SoCal

I've lived all of my 54 years around Concord. Traffic is bad but nothing like So. Cal. We get a little smog but you can always see Mt. Diablo. Yes, we still like our guns.
I think the only thing that So. Cal has on us is better beaches, well actually our beaches are nice enough but the water is colder. You might like it here.

I lived in San Diego for 8 years, and I currently live in Concord, CA.

There is an outdoor range literally a few blocks from my house. It's awesome.

The Contra Costa County sheriff is far more willing to administer CCW permits than San Diego's. (At least more willing than San Diego 6 months ago)

Our local gun stores are not as stocked, but that could also be the shrinking roster and lack of SSE options, it's been 2 years since I was in SD.

As far as prices go, they seem about the same to me... perhaps Norcal is 5% higher.

Overall gun culture is not any different here than San Diego AFAIK, except for the fact that there's just a lot more military down there, so there's a bit more interest in guns. However, I can't remember walking into a LGS and not seeing it packed up here. Ranges are always pretty full, and there seems to be no lack of options for PPTs in the Bay Area thanks to CalGuns.

Overall, I wouldn't worry about it. LMK if you need a range buddy when you get up here.

Thanks for the info. Have been in SoCal since I've moved to CA 43 years ago. With all the stories in the news re Oakland and Berkley, I was concerned what sort of gun culture existed up north. Won't move until summer or thereabouts. So have to sort out moving "stuff". Haven't gotten into the details yet.

Don't bother getting your ccw right before you move. I believe you're required to inform the issuing agency that you're moving... then your permit will expire 90 days after that.
So um... moon labia or something.

I am in Concord. It is ok here. A lot of anti gun culture, but livable. Some good ranges nearby. Gun stores are a bit lacking and that shows no signs of improvement. Anyway, let me know if you want to shoot when you get up here.

You live in Concord too? Crap...I'm moving

To the OP, Concord is GTG. Like any city, there's good neighborhoods and bad. Give me, 9kracing or BigPimping a shout when you get here, we'll meet up and shoot.
