    Hi Power Long slide

Does anyone have any idea how much this thing is worth? I am looking to buy one and would like to have an idea before I offer cash for it. I already have couple of regular size slide assemblies. I just have to see if it fits on this pistol.

Any information would be appreciated. I could not find the info on line.

Oh, by the way, I am ready to pick up my new Sig P320 in 9mm. Does anyone have an experience with this pistol? I liked their P250 and this pistol looks and feels just like it, except the firing mechanism.

That is interesting. See it's sold. Did you get it?

it says at the bottom of that listing that they are worth an estimated $600-$1200. most likely depending on condition and round count.

That gun is a GP Competition model. 6" barrel, it has a standard length slide with a barrel weight (approx 1"). They were made in the early '80's then re-released a few years later using left over parts. The main difference is the pivot pin for the trigger is in a slightly different location allowing for a lighter trigger pull. The slide is cut for a sheet metal adjustable rear sight, and there is no front sight on the slide, only on the barrel weight. On the inside of the slide there is a (for lack of a better description) leaf spring that puts pressure on the barrel so the barrel returns to the exact same position every time. The drawback is the spring can affect the reliability and some custom shops like Cylinder and Slide will remove it if necessary. Overall the gun is a lot of pretty accurate fun for target shooting but the long barrel is not for "combat" use.

I had a "Competition" model Hi Power many years back---good shootin' pistol---in a weak moment I sold it to a friend who then moved to the other side of the country---oh well...

I just wonder if $800 is a good price for it.

If you can get it for $800 snatch it up. Carol Watsons has had two sell for around $1300 plus the juice in the last 6 months. I am sure the one at Little Johns came close to that.
