I think you definitely got a good deal. If it's the first model it has a 70 series action. Which can be more desirable than the series II Kimbers.

I tried a bushing tool, but I find an empty .45 casing works just as well to press down the guide rod. Once the guide rod is flush, the bushing swings easily, or it should. And the advantage to using the casing is that I always have some handy and I don't care if I lose one.
