    Ruger SR1911 Talo Editions

Anybody have either of these? or an opinion on the SR1911 overall. I don't own any 1911's, but I have a few other SR pistols. If I'm going to do 1 more handgun this year, it may be one of these. I'm leaning toward the all black.

Go with a Springer or Colt.

Talo edition pistols are just grips and paint. Makes no sense to me to spend more for that fluff and puff.

That second one looks pretty nice. I would get that one.

        Get the glossy blue one.

I have a standard SR1911 and its a smooth shooter for $600. Just added some VZ grips for $40 looking even better.

Heres a commander version with the grips i got

The bottom model looks sweet but I like the pro-shop model which seems the biggest bang for the buck.

I own a SR1911 and love it. Just shy of 500 rounds in with 0 failures. Overall fit and finish is very good, slide to frame fit is very tight on mine, and it's far more accurate than I currently am. I especially like that it's a Series 70, has a flat metal main spring housing, gi recoil spring, novak sights, and does not have ambi safety; it's perfect

Both of those models look really good, you can't go wrong here.

I briefly owned a Ruger SR1911. It was a very good 1911 and reliable right out of the box. I let it go during the EBR panic to fund a long gun. But I will definitely be looking into these. I currently have Springfield and S&W 1911's and the Ruger was right on par with those in the sub 1K price point.

I did NOT know it was a series 70!
Thank you for that info, they are now on my short list!

I have a Govt and Commander (standard versions) - I am very happy with them. 100% made in the USA down to the screws. The barrel and barrel bushing are machined as a set from the same single piece of bar stock and kept together during the manufacturing process. This is because a piece of bar stock is unique enough to be harder or softer than another. By machining them together from the same stock, it insures one will not wear faster than the other and the assembly will stay tighter much, much longer.

My last gun was going to be a Canik TP9sa, but if the price on one of these isnt insane, an American made 1911 would be sweet!

                      Better than a Les Baer

Really though, I'd love that commander sized one for a bobtail

I own the Govt model SR1911. Ruger got it right by going stainless in Series 70.

100% reliable and accurate as can be. The Commander model was on my SSE bucket list, but I ran out of slots when a Glock 20 Gen 4 winked at me..

CMD model, Commander model, Ruger opted to use CMD wording to avoid possible copyright issues with Colt..

I own 9 ....1911s, love em all but this Ruger SR1911 is my favorite. It RUNS out of the box, no mods or smithing needed. Hickok45 has 4 videos on the SR1911. It was so back ordered in 2011 that Ruger built a new factory just to produce them faster. It worked, they are available and people love them.

                          Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

If you have a slot open, Tracy Rifle has a full size Talo (black nitride) for $900 + tax/fees. I looked it over yesterday... Very handsome piece.

Breco in Fresno has the Talo Nightwatchman in Fullsize and CMD. I held both and they are very nice.
