    Python Equivalent?

Well, I made the mistake of letting my dad shoot my Python and after one-holing the target on his first cylinder he is sold on wanting one. The problem is that here in CA they are worth their weight in gold it seems.

We're keeping our eyes peeled, but if we can't find one for a decent price (he's willing to pay up to $2200 for a nice one) I guess we'll have to look for something else.

So what else can be had that shoots (and preferably looks) as good as a factory Python?

Man I got excited when reading some Korth reviews....until I started seeing prices....got to pay to play I guess. That kind of quality certainly demands a premium.

I did mention his top price, which might get him some Korth stocks or maybe a barrel he were lucky.

Is that it though? The only close alternative will cost at least 3x the price he's willing to pay?

Patience will be your friend, just keep your eyes on sales here and everywhere along with your local gun stores. When you find one he likes don't hesitate, buy it. I have seen nice ones go for his budget or close to it. He will make more money but they won't make more Pythons. Oh, and nothing else comes close in my opinion.

Buy a Python online and have it sent to an FFL that does single action exemption. If you're near Huntington Beach we can do it at Headhunters Firearms.

I don't know if it's the equivalent, but I replaced my Pythons with a GP100 - NO regrets.

Older smith 686. I've got one from the 80's. Amazing trigger. Amazingly accurate.

Why all the Python hype I've never understood. Yes they are gorgeous and yes they shoot well. But at the margin, comparatively, are they really worth the price as shooters?

They're not liberals, they're leftists. Please don't use the former for the latter. Liberals are Locke, Jefferson, Burke, Hayek. Leftists are progressives, Prussian state-socialists, fascists. Liberals stand against the state and unequivocally support liberty. Leftists support state tyranny.

                        Underappreciated as a handgun

Pretty much the finest combat revolver ever made. I prefer the 4", but still, every serious handgunner ought to have one.

Didn't Taurus use to make a revolver with a ventilated rib?

This is the only thing I can think of that Taurus made. However, it is no where near the quality of a Python. And, I'm a Taurus fan.

                            Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

Manurhin but will be hard to find. Maybe get a nice S&W like a 686 and have a decent gunsmith tune it up for you.
